The University is immersed in a process of considerable change, after its incorporation in the European Space for Higher Education; it is forced to modify essential aspects of its anatomy such as the educational model, objectives and the organizational structural and evaluative level. Obviously, these changes must be reflected in the new degree title.
In this essay, we will go into depth concerning the transformation experienced by the Pedagogy degree. We will focus our attention on the perception of the students in relation to the application of cognitive capacities and whether these capacities have a significant influence or not in the acquisition of deep or superficial knowledge. To reach this goal, we will use a non-experimental methodology, gathering information from 205 students using a questionnaire. Among the most outstanding results we have to highlight that in both study plans, there is continuity in the development of certain capacities and this fact favors a concrete learning focus.
