The Student Opinion Survey (EOE) was validated in a Venezuelan university. The EOE measures the views and opinions of students on the development of each subject during the period. 410 students aged between 16 and 25 years participated voluntarily and enrolled in the subjects of mathematics and language for a trimester. Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were used and the latter technique was applied to rival models to obtain evidence of construct validity, this reduced the scale from 19 to 18 items. The resulting model contributed 68.25% of explained variance and high levels of reliability (α ≤ 0.787). Criterion validity with the dimensions of mathematical and linguistic self-efficacy was assessed. Its use is advisable to measure student perception about teacher performance in each subject, seeking to achieve improvements in teaching and greater confidence in the formal education system.
