The programs of teaching training oriented by an approach by competencies cannot make abstraction of the practicum because it is in the real context of the professional exercise that the competencies can be manifested. This period has an extremely rich training potential when this one considers the presence of trainers prepared to assume that role. This text considers one of them, the supervisor, and proposes some conceptual and methodological elements in the study. The qualitative methodology allows apprehending the way in which supervisors have modified and enriched their resources to be able to respond with effectiveness to the necessities of the students who accompany during their teaching training program.
