Hospitalization: a Parenthesis in a Children’s Life. Educational Attention for Hospitalized Children

The abrupt appearance of the disease generates in the infantile population a break of the balance which up to the moment they had enjoyed. Such they are the reminiscences that the loss of health transports in the child, that not only we would be situated before a problem of health, but, likewise, there should have present the personal and social consequences that this population suffers on having fallen ill. So much it is like that, that from the current legislative text with competition in education alludes to the specific needs of educational support that they accompany on the disease and there are foreseen modalities of education different from the ordinary ones (hospitable classrooms). An attention adapted to the sick child, happens for the association of the Hospitable Pedagogy and the Therapeutic Pedagogy, combining educational special and welfare needs, in order to offer a personalized response and interdisciplinary. The work before us is a review of the current situation in Spanish hospital classrooms and the proposed intervention guidelines for global action with hospitalized children.
